ဒီ သာမည အမ်ဳိးသမီးကေတာ့ ကိုယ္က်ဳိးစြန္႔ အနစ္နာခံလြန္လြန္းလို႔ living goddess လို႔ေတာင္ တင္စားၾကတဲ့အထိပါ။ သူမဟာ ၁၉၆၃ ခုႏွစ္ကစၿပီး အခုထက္ထိ ထိုင္ဝမ္ အေရွ႕ေတာင္ပိုင္းက ထိုင္တုံးၿမိဳ႕ရဲ႕ ေစ်းႀကီးထဲမွာ ဟင္းသီးဟင္းရြက္ ေရာင္းေနပါတယ္။ ေန႔စဥ္ေန႔တိုင္း မနက္ ၃၊ ၄ နာရီထၿပီး မိုးလင္း မိုးခ်ဳပ္ ေစ်းေရာင္းရာက ရလာတဲ့ ဝင္ေငြေတြကို ျခစ္ခ်ဳပ္ စုေဆာင္းရင္း လူ႔အဖြဲ႔အစည္းကို လူမသိ သူမသိ ေပးဆပ္ေနရာက Forbes ရဲ႕ 2010 ခုႏွစ္ 48 Heroes of Philanthropy စာရင္းထဲ ပါသြားၿပီး လူသိရွင္ၾကား ျဖစ္သြားတယ္။

A vegetable vendor in the Central Market in Taitung in eastern Taiwan since 1963. Dropped out of school after her mother died and began selling vegetables to help support the family of 7. Works virtually every day. Donated $32,000 for a children's fund in 2004 and another $144,000 the next year to help build a library at a school she attended. Gave $31,000 in 2006 to the city's Kids Alive International orphanage and has spent $11,000 to support 3 orphans there. Plans to set up a $313,000 fund this year to help the poor with education and health care.

Chen Shu-chu is a seller of vegetables in a stall in Taitung County's central market, in eastern Taiwan. Out of her modest living, Chen, 59, has managed to donate nearly NT$10 million (that's $320,000) to various causes, including $32,000 for a children's fund, $144,000 to help build a library at a school she attended and another $32,000 for the local orphanage, where she also gives financial support to three children.

What's so wonderful about Chen's achievement is not its extraordinariness but that it is so simple and matter of fact in its generosity. "Money serves its purpose only when it is used for those who need it," she told a newspaper. And rather than bask in her celebrity, Chen seems to dismiss the whole thing with a wave of her hand, perhaps even with a hint of irritation. "There isn't much to talk about, because I did not enter any competition," she says. "I haven't really made any huge donations."

She's planning to establish a fund to help the poor with education, food and health care. Amazing, but of all she has given away, her greatest gift is her example.
